Patients who are confined to their homes and who need nursing assistance can arrange this with the District Nurses.

District Nurses are experts in wound care, and leg ulcer care from initial diagnosis. They carry out blood tests, blood pressures, injection and insulin administration and monitoring of glucose levels for those with Diabetes. They give incontinence assessments, and catheter care for both men and women, and care of those with Hickman and Picc Lines required during chemotherapy.

They provide all aspects of palliative care (care of those who are not going to recover from their illness), including end of life care and support to the families of those who are dying.
